This page and project are dedicated to the memory Eddie, an Iraq war veteran who struggled with severe PTSD. Eddie was paired with Kubb, who became his much-needed "battle buddy." Kubb created a safe space around Eddie, disrupting nightmares and other negative behaviors that Eddie suffered from. This project aims to keep Eddie's hope alive for the next person who may need a "battle buddy" like Kubb.
Addyson & Sadie
Seizure Alert and Response
Sadie is more than just a pet for 3-year-old Addyson. She is a seizure alert and response dog who is always by her side. Sadie's keen sense of smell allows her to detect when Addyson's medication levels are low and she barks to alert her when she is about to have an emergency. After the event, Sadie provides comfort and safety to Addyson. She is truly a lifesaver and a best friend.
Matthew & Ouzo
Autism Assitance
Ouzo is a highly trained service dog who has been specifically raised to assist Matthew, a non-verbal autistic child. Ouzo's primary role is to keep Matthew close to his mother by utilizing a leash to pull him back when he attempts to wander off. In the event that Matthew does wander too far, Ouzo is trained to locate him and circle around him to keep him in one spot his mother arrives. Furthermore, Ouzo is trained to interrupt harmful behavior through the use of gentle jumping and nudging.
Alessandrea & West
PTSD & Mental Health
west is training to help his new handler Alessandrea as her "battle buddy" much like Kubb West provides a perimeter around Ali helping her feel safer in crowded area. he is also training to provide DPT for her when she has an episode by leaning into her creating a grounding feeling, as well as lay on her lags to help through panic episodes West is being train in Association with Pro Canine Center. Anna & Avi
Autism Assistance
Anna is enrolled in a specialized Owner/handler training program where she is learning to train her own service dog Avi. Avi is training to disrupt harmful behavior with her Beagle bark and help Anna emotionally regulate herself in difficult situations. Anna and Avi show incredible dedication, persistence and cooperation that allows them to work as an excellent team.
Cindy & Pixie
Mobility Assitance
Pixie is half sister to Ouzo and is starting her training as a Mobility assistance dog for Cindy! She will be trained to brace for Cindy when she stands up and give her better balance when walking!
