About me

I am Amanda Rose the founder and name sake of Rose Gold K9s.  I started my career as a dog walker in 2014. I rapidly progressed to the position of daycare director and subsequently pursued a part-time dog training internship. During this time I was promoted to both Daycare Director and Kennel manager at a large boarding facility.  I was seeking more knowledge so right before Covid I started a career in general practice veterinary medicine and soon after fell in love with emergency medicine all the while continuing my internship.  I worked at a large multi specialty emergency hospital at night and continued my training course during the day.   In 2020 I was hired by the facility after I finished my training course and have been solely training dogs ever since.

My approach

My dog training program is designed to help you build a stronger bond with your dog. My hybrid approach involves teaching your dog the necessary obedience and then teaching YOU the training skills you need to bridge the communication gap between you and your pet. I believe that true obedience should work in everyday life, not just on a field. Whether you have a new puppy or a dog with behavioral issues, I am here to equip you with the necessary skills to make obedience training work for you in your every day life.   It is easy for a trainer to take the leash and make a dog listen, it takes SKILL to have YOU the leash and have the dog listen as if you taught them yourself!

My training method is reward and relationship based balanced training.  its important to make things CLEAR and understandable for your dog and you.  When everyone is communicating the same way it makes ideas and expectations easier to understand and your dog is HAPPY to be doing the work!

If your dog doesn't like the trainer find a new one

Remy went through my puppy class as well as full on and off leash obedience. I haven’t seen him in about a year and a half and this is the reunion I came back to. He still remembers me and he loves me the same way he did when we were working together.

Dog training is about establishing a relationship with a bond. How is the dog going to listen to you if they don’t know who you are, if they don’t trust you, if they don’t respect you and eventually if they don’t, love you.
When training is done right it creates a beautiful unbreakable bond. This is the goal I strive for this is the picture I want to create for every dog owner.  If your dog isn't excited every time they see the trainer than you need to find another one.
